Using TasteBook is easy!
It really is very simple to create a cookbook using the TasteBook site. The site is very easy to navigate and use. It is not set up for computer specialists or technophiles, it is for ordinary people who can use a computer. You just follow the instructions.
Once you have joined and logged on to the TasteBook site you need to start with your own collection or an editor created Tastebook. To create your first collection (your TasteBook), click on the New Collection tab on the left of the screen, under Collections
Fill out the form with the title and description you want. Then click on the Save button.
Your new collection will now be visible in the COLLECTIONS menu on the left, under the New Collection button you just used. Use this to update it from now on.
Open your new collection and then click on the Personal cookbook options link at the top right of the screen.

From here click on the Cover tab to choose a cover for your book.
That’s it! You have now made a cookbook. It’s all ready for you to fill up with your recipes.
You have some choices.
Click on the Dedication tab if you want to have a dedication in your cookbook.
You can click on the Edit Chapters button if you want to edit the chapter names, delete a chapter, add your own chapter names or change the order of the chapters.
As you go along you can click the Preview tab to see what the cookbook will look like as a finished product.
You could add your own recipes. Click on the Add Recipe button. You will get to a page like this:
Just fill out the details. Note that some are mandatory.
Title – name of the recipe
Chapter – select the chapter you want it to be a part of
Description – add a little about the dish
Ingredients – list what is needed for the recipe
Preparation Instructions – put in how to make the recipe
Source – where did the recipe come from
There are a few optional fields that you can use as well
- how many serves
- how long to prepare
- how long to cook
- total time
- notes – add some other details, alternative ingredients
